Current Status of Grain Storage

Currently, the use of technologies like big data and IoT for supervision in China's grain industry is still in its exploratory phase. The grain storage and transport supervision system consists of two main components: in-warehouse storage and in-transit transport. Both face pressing security and management issues that need to be addressed.

Challenges in Warehouse Storage Oversight

Grain warehouses, often located in remote areas, lack digitalized record-keeping and oversight for their doors during inspections or when grain enters or exits. This creates a risk of:Grain substitution,In-warehouse cargo damage due to inadequate inspection,Poor temperature and humidity control.

Low Level of Storage Automation

Grain storage operations primarily rely on traditional manual or mechanical processes, leading to low efficiency and a general lack of automation.

In-transit Grain Security Issues

During transport, the inadequate security measures make it difficult to guarantee the safety of the grain.

1.Project Goals

By leveraging Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology, we aim to interconnect numerous geographically dispersed grain warehouses onto a single platform. Through automatic data collection and integration, this system will help grain storage enterprises enhance the security of grain, as well as improve key functions like in-and-out of storage operations, warehouse inspections, warehouse door locking/unlocking, and in-transit security between the warehouse and the processing plant.

The platform’s ultimate goal is to improve refined process management and ensure accurate grain counts and high quality. This will make warehouse operations more standardized and efficient, driving a transformative development that gradually achieves standardization, process optimization, digitalization, integration, automation, and intelligence.
